CDL

Railway Safety

CDL assists clients maintain and improve the safety of their railway operations and activities.  At CDL, safety is the absolute priority in the implementation of, and planning for, railway construction.  Whilst maintaining this priority, a balance must also be found between conflicting demands such as minimising disruption to the operational railway, minimising cost and minimising the risk of possession overruns.

The CDL team members have broad experience of railway construction, allowing them to find this balance.  Cost and programme "failures" are too often the manifestation of outcomes which were, in fact, always quite probable, made worse by over optimism and a failure to plan for that probable outcome.  A key feature of the CDL strategy for railway construction is a strong focus on realism, making sure that all these outcomes are properly identified, faced and planned for.

Our diverse and comprehensive service offerings are fundamental to offering the right solution to our clients and include;

• Safety Management Systems Development;
• Safety Audits;
• Safety Improvement Programmes; and
• Independent Safety Audits.
